Terms of use
The rules for using Event Job Site, for people looking for work and for employers, in plain English.
Who we are
Event Job Site (eventjobsite.com) is run by Watts Digital Consulting Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company 14574775), #3042 275 New North Road, London N1 7AA, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). We are a company registered in the UK. You can reach us at [email protected].
These terms apply when you use the site, whether you are looking for work, hiring, or just browsing. By creating an account you agree to them.
What we are, and what we are not
We are a job board: we show event jobs and the tools to apply, hire and keep track of shifts and hours.
- We are not an employer. We do not employ or engage the people who find work here.
- We are not an employment agency or employment business. We do not find, supply or place workers, and we do not pay them.
- Any job, contract or engagement is between the worker and the employer. The employer decides who to hire, what to pay and how the work is done.
- We never charge workers. Not to sign up, not to apply, not for anything.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 and old enough to work where the job is.
- Give your real name and details, and keep them up to date.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Account. See the Privacy policy for what happens to your data.
If you are looking for work
- Using the site is free. If anyone asks you to pay to get a job here, don't pay, and tell us at [email protected].
- When you apply, the employer sees your profile, your qualifications, any certificate files you attached to them, your photo if you added one, and your note. If you choose to let employers find you, approved employers can see your profile and qualifications (and whether a certificate is attached) without you applying, but can't open the certificate files.
- Only add qualifications you hold, and only attach certificates that are genuine and yours. We don't check them: the employer does.
- You tell us whether you have the right to work in your country. We never ask for or keep documents: the employer checks your right to work before you start.
- We don't promise you will get work, or check every detail an employer gives. Read the job carefully and ask the employer if anything is unclear.
- Your pay, hours, holiday pay, tax and working conditions are agreed with, and are the responsibility of, the employer.
If you are hiring
When you post jobs or use our tools, you agree that:
- Your jobs are real, currently open, legal where the work takes place, and described accurately, including the pay and its currency where you state it.
- You never charge workers a fee to apply or to work for you.
- You are responsible for right-to-work checks, contracts, pay (including any minimum wage and holiday pay), tax, insurance, health and safety, and every other employment law that applies to the people you hire.
- You check any qualification or licence a job needs yourself. A certificate a worker attaches is their own upload: "Certificate attached" means a file is there, not that we have checked it.
- You don't discriminate unlawfully, in a job post or in who you hire.
- You use the details of people who apply or who you find here only to recruit and manage the work, and you handle them under the data protection law that applies to you. For those details you are the controller.
- We check new employer accounts before their jobs go live, and we may edit, pause or remove any job that breaks these terms.
- A free account can have 2 live jobs at a time.
Jobs listed from employers' own sites
Some jobs are listed from an employer's public careers page. They belong to the employer: we show a summary, link to the original and check regularly that it is still open. You apply on the employer's own site, under their terms and privacy policy. An employer who wants a job listed differently, removed, or wants to manage their listings here can contact us at [email protected].
Shift and timesheet records: data processing terms
When an employer uses our shift, clock-in and timesheet tools, the hours worked, clock-in and clock-out times, breaks and approvals are the employer's records. For those records the employer is the controller and we are their processor. This section is the data processing agreement between us and every employer that uses these tools (UK GDPR and EU GDPR Article 28).
- What we process: the names and contact details of the employer's workers, the shifts they are booked on, their clock-in and clock-out times (and how they clocked in), breaks, notes, and who approved each timesheet and when. We process them to provide the tools, for as long as the employer's account exists.
- Instructions: we process these records only to provide the tools the employer uses, or as the law requires (and we tell the employer first unless the law forbids it).
- Confidentiality: only people who need access to run the service have it, and they are bound to keep it confidential.
- Security: encrypted connections, access controls, approved timesheets that can't be changed afterwards, and a record of who did what.
- Sub-processors: we use the providers listed in the Privacy policy. We tell employers by email or on that page before we add or replace one, and an employer can object.
- Helping you: we help the employer answer requests from their workers to see, correct or delete their data, and with security and impact assessments, as far as we reasonably can.
- Breaches: we tell the employer without undue delay after we become aware of a breach affecting these records.
- When it ends: when the employer closes their account, we delete these records within 90 days, unless the law says we must keep them. Employers should download what they need to keep (for example for pay records) before closing.
- Checks: we give the employer the information reasonably needed to show we keep to these terms.
- Transfers: where records go outside the UK or EU, we use the safeguards described in the Privacy policy.
Workers see their own hours in their account. For a worker's own account and profile, we are the controller (see the Privacy policy).
Acceptable use
Don't use the site to:
- post fake, misleading or illegal jobs, or jobs that need the worker to pay or recruit others;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
- send spam, or contact people for anything other than the work;
- copy profiles or contact details in bulk, or use them outside hiring for a real job;
- get around our security, overload the site, or create accounts automatically.
Search engines and AI assistants are welcome to read our public job pages.
Our responsibility to you
- We work hard to keep the site running and the jobs accurate, but we provide it as it is. We can't guarantee it will always be available or error free.
- We are not responsible for what employers or workers do, for jobs, or for any agreement between them.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit. If you use the site as a consumer, you keep all your legal rights.
- If you use the site for your business, we are not liable for lost profits, business or data, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in that period.
Suspending or closing accounts
We may pause or close an account, or remove a job, that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. Where we reasonably can, we tell you why first. You can close your account at any time.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or the EU, you keep the protection of your local consumer law and can bring a claim in your local courts. Questions: [email protected].
